Paul C. Buff was a creator, lighting innovator, and adventurous pioneer. With a heavy focus on accuracy, versatility and affordability, Buff introduced a fully featured studio flash known as the White Lightning 130 in 1981. Following the success of the White Lightning 130, Buff created "the ultimate monoflash" in 1986 with the White Lightning Ultra system. The Ultra Series self-contained flash units were extremely compact and powerful. In recent years, Buff's innovations continued roaring into the marketplace as he released the Einstein, CyberSync and Cyber Commander products, the revolutionary Vagabond Mini Lithium and Vagabond Lithium Extreme portable power systems, and the PLM (Parabolic Light Modifier) systems.
It has been our mission to advance Paul C. Buff, Inc. in the spirit of innovation and originality upon which it was founded.
The Einstein Flash Unit features action stopping flash durations, color consistency, and the broadest power range. The flexibility of the power range allows for everything from over-powering the sun, to shooting indoor portraits with a wide-open aperture. All Paul C. Buff, Inc. flash units arrive with a 15' sync cord for connecting to a camera's PC sync terminal. Not all cameras are equipped with a PC sync terminal, so a hot shoe adapter may be required if wireless remotes are not used.
The Einstein Flash Unit offers 9 f-stop power variability (2.5 Ws to 640 Ws), adjustable in precise 1/10 f-stops, with all-digital control from an LCD display. It features global plug-and-play from 95 to 265 VAC and action stopping flash durations as short as 1/13,500 sec. (t.1). Color consistency is maintained within +/- 50K at any power, and it has a bright, adjustable 250 W modeling lamp. The frosted dome cover reduces UV emission, and audible and visual recycle indicators are included.
The Einstein is compatible with all Buff light modifiers, light stands, CyberSync remotes, and Vagabond systems. It arrives with a frosted Pyrex dome, flashtube, 250 W modeling lamp, 15' sync cord (1/8" to PC), 15' power cord, and Einstein shipping cover. Premium accessories include a 2-Year Factory Warranty and Einstein Product Manual.
The DigiBee offers speed, accuracy, and consistency in a compact design, increasing versatility with the LED modeling lamp. The Celestial features HSS and TTL flash capabilities, a built-in receiver, and a 160W equivalent daylight balanced modeling light. The Link also features HSS and TTL flash capabilities, a built-in receiver, and an 800W equivalent daylight balanced modeling light.
